We forecast nothing. How to read the yearly tables, drawdowns and seasonality is explained on each coin’s page.
How to read these pages
Every number in this section comes from exchange data and is recalculated on each refresh. We forecast nothing: these pages answer "what happened", not "what will happen".
The yearly table
A year's "open" is the previous December's close, not January's first trade. That way the percentage shows what you entered the year with and what you left it with, without a gap between the figures.
Highs and lows are intramonth, taken from the monthly candles. The distance between them and the closing price is often enormous — which is exactly why buying the low is easy in hindsight and almost never happens live.
Drawdowns
Drawdown depth is measured close to close rather than from intramonth wicks: nobody buys the wick, but holding a position through a fall like that is a real problem.
Seasonality
In the seasonality table each cell is one month of one year, so you see not only the average but how widely the years disagree. We print the observation count beside every percentage on purpose: on a sample of nine years a pattern cannot be told apart from a coincidence.
