What Gate is

Gate has been running since 2013, which makes it one of the oldest active crypto exchanges — four or five years older than most venues in this review. In that time it has grown everything an exchange can have, and today it holds two thousand spot pairs and a thousand perpetual contracts.

Its defining feature is elsewhere though: twenty-four networks for USDT withdrawals, more than any other venue in our review. If you need to send a coin into an unusual network, this is most likely the place that can do it.

What you get here

Spot — two thousand pairs, including a great many small projects.

Futures — a thousand perpetual contracts.

P2P — buy crypto for ordinary money.

Earn — savings, staking, structured products and lending.

Startup — take part in new token launches.

Copy trading and bots — mirror trades and run automated strategies.

GT token — fee discounts and access to the platform programmes.

Fees

Entry level is ordinary for the market, falling with volume and with GT on your balance. USDT withdrawals start at 0.04 on Aptos, which is cheap — and more importantly, the choice of networks lets you pick whichever is cheapest today.

Worth knowing

The Gate interface is dense with sections: the exchange has added a great deal over the years, and finding the right one first time does not always work. That is the price of breadth — once you settle in, almost everything is in one place.

Who it suits

Anyone who wants freedom when moving funds: twenty-four networks offer a choice available nowhere else. Anyone hunting rare coins. And anyone who values a long track record — eleven unbroken years in this market is rare in itself.

Frequently asked

How reliable is Gate?
It has operated since 2013 and publishes proof of reserves regularly — good marks by industry standards. That publication is not a full audit.
What is proof of reserves?
A Merkle-tree procedure letting you verify your balance is counted in the exchange's liabilities and those liabilities are covered by assets. It does not reveal off-balance-sheet obligations.
What does the GT token give me?
A fee discount and access to exchange programmes, including early sales.
Are there many coins?
One of the widest listings on the market, comparable to MEXC. As there, breadth calls for caution: check a pair's volume before trading.
