A spread on the screen is not yet a profit

By the time you have opened a second tab, the price may have moved. The real result depends on fees, order book depth, listing limits, transfer time and whether withdrawals of that coin are open on that network. Some of these conditions are beyond what the calculation can take into account.

Risks that stay with you

Price. Crypto assets rise and fall sharply, sometimes within minutes.

Counterparty. In a P2P deal you are dealing with another person, who may turn out to be dishonest.

Bank. A bank can delay a payment or freeze an account.

Venue. An exchange can suspend withdrawals, change its rules or stop operating.

The law where you live

Which exchanges you can use and how crypto assets are treated depend on your country. Only you can make sure that what you do is legal and that your taxes are paid.
