Binance or OKX

Two venues with genuinely deep books. A look at what each one does and why people keep both.

Compared by the numbers

These figures come from the venues themselves. Volume is missing on purpose: every exchange counts it its own way, and on a few the top of the book is tokenised equities. The bottom row counts the P2P currencies our scanner reaches, not everything the venue lists.

Why this particular pair

Binance and OKX are the two venues where books are dense enough for the price to count as real. That is why people keep both: a gap between them is almost always genuine rather than an artefact of a thin market.

They differ in character, not in class. Binance brings scale and ecosystem; OKX brings a complete derivatives set and a built-in route into Web3.

What Binance gives you

Spot — over a thousand pairs and the best book depth on the market.

Futures — more than five hundred perpetual contracts.

Options — a separate section.

P2P — the largest in the world by offer count and currency coverage.

Earn — savings, staking, dual investments, auto-invest.

Launchpad and Megadrop — new project launches.

Binance Pay and card — spend crypto directly.

BNB token — a fee discount behind one toggle.

What OKX gives you

Spot — over four hundred USDT pairs plus two hundred and seventy-two quoted directly in euro: second only to Kraken in our review on that count.

Futures — perpetual and dated, almost five hundred contracts.

Options — a proper section, not a formality.

Web3 wallet — non-custodial, with a decentralised-exchange aggregator right in the app.

Its own X Layer network — and free USDT withdrawals on it.

Earn — savings, staking, dual investments and structured products.

Jumpstart — take part in new token launches.

Copy trading and bots — mirror trades and run automated strategies.

The Web3 wallet is the OKX difference

Inside the OKX app lives a full non-custodial wallet with a DEX aggregator. You can buy a coin on spot, move it to your own wallet and swap it on a decentralised exchange without leaving one interface or installing anything. Binance has no equivalent in a single window.

Funds in that wallet are yours: the keys stay with you, which is exactly the freedom such a wallet exists for.

Euro money without the extra hop

Two hundred and seventy-two direct euro pairs is rare. The usual path from euro into a coin is two trades through USDT; here the path is shorter, and therefore cheaper.

Fees and transfers

Entry-level rates on both are in line with the market and fall with volume: Binance also discounts for paying fees in BNB, OKX for OKB held on the balance.

The main OKX saving is not the trading fee but the transfers: USDT withdrawals on its own X Layer network are free. Sixteen networks in total.

P2P

Binance runs the larger section by offer count. OKX has the tidier interface and more predictable payment-method filters; for CIS and Turkish currencies it is one of the strongest sections on the market.

A separate setup for Europe

Useful to know: for users in the European Economic Area, OKX operates through a separate legal entity on a separate domain. Accounts and API keys do not carry across — we ran into this ourselves while connecting the exchange to our scanner.

Who each one suits

Binance — if book depth, the largest P2P and one ecosystem in one place matter most.

OKX — if you need options and dated futures, decentralised markets in the same window, or direct euro pairs.

What the numbers say

The cheapest chain for USDT sits on OKX: ARBITRUM at 0.0029, where Binance charges 0.0100 BSC. The spot lists are comparable: roughly 493 USDT pairs on each. Binance opens 19 chains for USDT against 16 on OKX — more routes mean more chances to move funds cheaply. The futures list runs longer on Binance: 860, against 517. P2P reaches our scanner in 56 currencies from Binance and 16 from OKX.

Frequently asked

Which exchange is better for arbitrage?
Both, and specifically together: this is the one pair where a price gap can be treated as real rather than an artefact of a thin book.
Which has more coins?
Binance leads on spot pair count, while OKX has two hundred and seventy-two direct euro pairs. Current figures are in the table at the top of this page.
What is the separate OKX domain for Europe?
For European Economic Area users a separate legal entity operates on its own domain. Accounts and API keys do not carry between the two, so set everything up there from the start.
Where are withdrawals cheaper?
OKX has its own X Layer network with free USDT withdrawals. For other networks compare the live figures at the top of this page.
What does the OKX Web3 wallet give me?
A non-custodial wallet with a DEX aggregator inside the app: the keys are yours, and the route from spot to a decentralised exchange is a couple of screens.
OKX or Binance — which should you pick?
It is the same choice whichever way round you write it. The comparison above is built on what can be measured: fees, pair counts, withdrawal chains and funding routes. Look less at which venue is "better" in general and more at which of those matters to you.
