Binance or KuCoin

The default venue against the exchange with the best trading bots. A look at what keeps people on the second one.

Compared by the numbers

Measured at the venues, not taken from their marketing. Volume stays out of the table: no two exchanges count it the same way, and a shared number nobody defines helps no one.

Why people pick KuCoin

Two concrete reasons: coins that are not on Binance, and built-in trading bots that need no code at all.

Trading bots right in the interface

This is the KuCoin difference. Grid, DCA and arbitrage bots are built into the exchange and configured with a mouse: pick a pair, set a price range and a number of levels, and the bot runs.

The grid bot earns on swings inside the range, DCA averages the entry, the arbitrage bot captures the gap between spot and futures. All free, with no third-party services. On Binance the same usually means writing code or plugging in an outside tool.

Altcoins

KuCoin built its reputation on early listing: many coins that now trade everywhere first got a serious book here. On spot pair count it sits comfortably in the top five.

Its selection is tighter than on venues with an almost unlimited listing — a middle ground between the strict filter of Binance and maximum breadth.

KCS: more than a discount

KCS gives a fee discount, which is normal. What is not normal is the rest: it also pays daily distributions from part of the venue fee revenue. Among exchange tokens that is uncommon.

Who each one suits

Running both is common practice: Binance covers depth and funding, KuCoin brings the tools and the coins.

What the numbers say

Counting spot pairs, KuCoin comes out ahead by 1.6×: 817 USDT pairs against 519. The cheapest chain for USDT sits on Binance: BSC at 0.0100, where KuCoin charges 0.50 TON. The futures list runs longer on Binance: 860, against 707. USDT leaves Binance over 19 networks and KuCoin over 18: the wider the choice, the easier a cheap bridge is to find. In our scanner KuCoin shows P2P in 89 currencies, Binance in 56.

Frequently asked

Which has more coins?
KuCoin: it sits in the top five on spot pair count. Current figures are in the table at the top of this page.
What is KCS?
The KuCoin exchange token. It gives a fee discount and daily distributions from part of the venue fee revenue — the latter is uncommon among exchange tokens.
How do KuCoin bots work?
The grid bot earns on swings inside a set range, DCA averages the entry, the arbitrage bot captures the spot-futures gap. All configured with a mouse.
Which has the deeper book?
Binance, noticeably. A large order on a secondary pair is better executed there.
Can I use both?
Yes, and it is a common setup: Binance for core trading and funding, KuCoin for the bots and altcoins.
KuCoin or Binance — which should you pick?
It is the same choice whichever way round you write it. The comparison above is built on what can be measured: fees, pair counts, withdrawal chains and funding routes. Look less at which venue is "better" in general and more at which of those matters to you.
