In short: the difference
First in the pair, Gate, is an exchange with thousands of pairs. On the market since 2013, jurisdiction: Panama, its own GT token.
Second in the pair, WhiteBIT, is a venue with direct fiat. On the market since 2018, jurisdiction: Lithuania, its own WBT token.
What Gate gives you
Against a regulated venue, Gate wins on other things: One of the oldest venues, running since 2013, and first in our coverage for withdrawal networks: twenty-four for USDT alone. Two thousand spot pairs and a thousand perpetuals. There is P2P, savings and staking, Startup launches, copy trading, bots and its own GT token with fee discounts.
Strong sides: 24 USDT withdrawal networks, more than anyone, 2000 spot pairs, running since 2013.
What WhiteBIT gives you
Early listings are not the only argument; WhiteBIT answers with its own: A European venue with Ukrainian roots, registered in Lithuania. Its defining trait is money without USDT in the middle: ninety-two euro pairs and sixteen hryvnia ones, a combination nothing else here offers. There is spot, almost four hundred perpetuals, P2P, staking and savings, a launchpad and its own WBT token, which sits in the market top twenty by capitalisation.
Strong sides: 92 euro pairs and 16 hryvnia ones, European registration, a 0.1% fee, WBT in the top 20.
What decides it
- Age. Gate has run since 2013, WhiteBIT since 2018 — a gap of 5 years. It guarantees nothing on its own, but the older venue has been through more market cycles.
- Jurisdiction. Gate sits in Panama, WhiteBIT in Lithuania. It shapes both the checks you pass and what the venue has to disclose.
- Native tokens. Gate has GT, WhiteBIT has WBT: holders usually get fee discounts and access to launches.
- Strengths side by side. Gate: 24 USDT withdrawal networks, more than anyone, 2000 spot pairs, running since 2013; WhiteBIT: 92 euro pairs and 16 hryvnia ones, European registration, a 0.1% fee, WBT in the top 20.
- Which job. Gate is for anyone who values freedom of choice when moving coins between chains, while WhiteBIT is for settling directly in euro and hryvnia without USDT in between.
- Worth remembering. Gate: the interface is dense with sections: finding the right one takes a while. WhiteBIT: USDT withdrawals cost more than on the largest venues — compare networks if you move often.
Which one fits you
Gate — for anyone who values freedom of choice when moving coins between chains.
WhiteBIT — for settling directly in euro and hryvnia without USDT in between.
What people ask most
Gate: Are there many coins? One of the widest listings on the market, comparable to MEXC. As there, breadth calls for caution: check a pair's volume before trading.
Gate: What is proof of reserves? A Merkle-tree procedure letting you verify your balance is counted in the exchange's liabilities and those liabilities are covered by assets. It does not reveal off-balance-sheet obligations.
WhiteBIT: Where is the exchange registered? In Lithuania, running since 2018, founded by Ukrainians. That European registration sets it apart from most venues we cover, which are registered offshore.
WhiteBIT: What does it cost to withdraw USDT? One USDT on almost any network: TRON, BSC, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum and the rest. Only Ethereum (0.4) and Plasma (0.1) are cheaper. That is noticeably dearer than the large competitors, and it tells on frequent transfers.
Both at once
Nothing stops you from opening an account on both: it is free, and a pair of venues almost always beats any single one on price. Fiat comes in through the regulated venue, while a small sum sits on the early-listing one for new coins: the money arrives clean and the tickers do not pass you by.
Live numbers
Everything in the table above is recomputed together with the rest of the site — pairs, contracts, P2P, networks and the withdrawal fee. Gate and WhiteBIT can be compared on facts rather than promises.
What the numbers say
Spot breadth favours Gate — 2,038 USDT pairs to 326, 6.3× more. Our scanner reads P2P on Gate only — 72 currencies. On perpetual contracts Gate is ahead — 1,070 to 395. Gate opens 26 chains for USDT against 12 on WhiteBIT — more routes mean more chances to move funds cheaply. Moving USDT costs less on Gate: 0.0500 over ARBITRUM, where WhiteBIT wants 0.50 SOL.
