Gate vs KCEX

Gate wins on the breadth of the list, KCEX on the services around trading. People often keep both and switch by task.

Compared by the numbers

All of it is pulled from the platforms as they publish it. Volume is the one figure we skip — the counting rules differ so widely that a side-by-side would mislead rather than inform.

In short: the difference

What Gate is: the exchange with the longest ticker list. On the market since 2013, jurisdiction: Panama, its own GT token.

What KCEX is: an exchange that covers several jobs at once. On the market since 2021, jurisdiction: Seychelles.

What Gate gives you

The rival’s service list is wide, yet Gate wins on other things: One of the oldest venues, running since 2013, and first in our coverage for withdrawal networks: twenty-four for USDT alone. Two thousand spot pairs and a thousand perpetuals. There is P2P, savings and staking, Startup launches, copy trading, bots and its own GT token with fee discounts.

Strong sides: 24 USDT withdrawal networks, more than anyone, 2000 spot pairs, running since 2013.

What KCEX gives you

Against an early-listing venue, KCEX plays a different game: A venue weighted towards derivatives: eight hundred and more perpetual contracts, each with an open funding rate and mark price, alongside spot on roughly eight hundred and fifty pairs. The offer it leads with is zero spot commission and low rates on futures. Copy trading and new-coin launches round it out, and the dense part of the book sits in the first hundred pairs.

Strong sides: 800+ contracts with open rates and mark prices, zero spot fees per the venue’s own schedule, early listings.

What decides it

  • Age. Gate has run since 2013, KCEX since 2021 — a gap of 8 years. It guarantees nothing on its own, but the older venue has been through more market cycles.
  • Jurisdiction. Gate sits in Panama, KCEX in Seychelles. It shapes both the checks you pass and what the venue has to disclose.
  • Native token. GT on Gate cuts fees and opens launches; KCEX has no such lever.
  • Strengths side by side. Gate: 24 USDT withdrawal networks, more than anyone, 2000 spot pairs, running since 2013; KCEX: 800+ contracts with open rates and mark prices, zero spot fees per the venue’s own schedule, early listings.
  • Which job. Gate is for anyone who values freedom of choice when moving coins between chains, while KCEX is primarily as a futures venue in funding.
  • Worth remembering. Gate: the interface is dense with sections: finding the right one takes a while. KCEX: spot books are served one pair per request, so we keep the top hundred by turnover under watch.

Which one fits you

Gate — for anyone who values freedom of choice when moving coins between chains.

KCEX — primarily as a futures venue in funding.

What people ask most

Gate: What does the GT token give me? A fee discount and access to exchange programmes, including early sales.

Gate: What is proof of reserves? A Merkle-tree procedure letting you verify your balance is counted in the exchange's liabilities and those liabilities are covered by assets. It does not reveal off-balance-sheet obligations.

KCEX: Why do KCEX routes show a question mark instead of a transfer status? The venue does not publish whether deposits and withdrawals are open per network, or what a transfer costs. We will not present a guess as a fact, so the badge reads «unknown» and those rows are hidden while the «working transfers only» filter is on.

KCEX: What are KCEX fees? The venue advertises zero spot fees and reduced futures rates. In our tables the fee is yours to set in the «trade fee» field — put in zero and watch how the net spread changes.

KCEX: Does KCEX take part in funding? Yes, in full. Every contract arrives in one list with its rate, accrual interval and next payout time, so the annualised rate is computed from the real interval rather than an assumption.

Both at once

Keeping both costs less than it seems: signing up is free, and a choice of two quotes usually beats one. A rare coin is bought where it exists and moved to the ecosystem — easier to hold, stake or sell into a deeper book there.

Live numbers

Everything in the table above is recomputed together with the rest of the site — pairs, contracts, P2P, networks and the withdrawal fee. Gate and KCEX can be compared on facts rather than promises.

What the numbers say

It is the same choice whichever way round you write it. The comparison above is built on what can be measured: fees, pair counts, withdrawal chains and funding routes. Look less at which venue is "better" in general and more at which of those matters to you.
