OKX vs WEEX

WEEX is built for contracts; OKX also covers earn, bots and launches. It comes down to what you need more often.

Compared by the numbers

All of it is pulled from the platforms as they publish it. Volume is the one figure we skip — the counting rules differ so widely that a side-by-side would mislead rather than inform.

In short: the difference

OKX is a venue with bots and a Web3 side. On the market since 2017, jurisdiction: Seychelles, its own OKB token.

WEEX is an exchange with a strong futures side. On the market since 2018, jurisdiction: Singapore, its own WXT token.

What OKX gives you

Next to a derivatives terminal, OKX answers with something else: One of the few venues with a full derivatives suite: spot, perpetual and dated futures, options. Plus P2P, savings and staking, coin launches on Jumpstart, copy trading, bots and its own Web3 wallet with access to decentralised exchanges. It runs its own X Layer network, where USDT withdrawals are free.

Strong sides: free withdrawals on its own X Layer network, a full derivatives suite, a built-in Web3 wallet.

What WEEX gives you

The rival’s service list is wide, yet WEEX wins on other things: A young venue that grew fast: seventeen hundred spot pairs and a thousand perpetuals, more than many long-established names. There is P2P in dozens of currencies, copy trading, savings and its own WXT token. The exchange is known for the user protection fund it holds publicly.

Strong sides: 1700 spot pairs and 1000 contracts, a broad P2P, a public protection fund.

What decides it

  • Jurisdiction. OKX sits in Seychelles, WEEX in Singapore. It shapes both the checks you pass and what the venue has to disclose.
  • Native tokens. OKX has OKB, WEEX has WXT: holders usually get fee discounts and access to launches.
  • Strengths side by side. OKX: free withdrawals on its own X Layer network, a full derivatives suite, a built-in Web3 wallet; WEEX: 1700 spot pairs and 1000 contracts, a broad P2P, a public protection fund.
  • Which job. OKX is for anyone who needs options and access to decentralised markets from one window, while WEEX is for anyone who needs a wide choice of pairs and a live P2P in their currency.
  • Worth remembering. OKX: the interface is dense: a newcomer needs time to settle in. WEEX: eleven withdrawal networks — fewer than the largest venues.

Which one fits you

OKX — for anyone who needs options and access to decentralised markets from one window.

WEEX — for anyone who needs a wide choice of pairs and a live P2P in their currency.

What people ask most

OKX: Is the built-in Web3 wallet safe? It is non-custodial: the keys are yours, the exchange has no access and cannot recover funds. Its safety equals how well you keep the recovery phrase.

OKX: What is the separate European domain? Users in the European Economic Area are served by a separate legal entity on its own domain. Accounts and API keys do not carry across.

WEEX: What does WEEX charge? 0.1% for both maker and taker on spot. The exchange publishes the rate per pair in its instrument directory, so you can verify it yourself.

WEEX: Which network is cheapest for USDT withdrawals? Not TRON, contrary to habit: it is the dearest on WEEX, and layer-two networks come in more than ten times cheaper. Exact figures per network are in the table at the top of this page, since they change.

WEEX: Do I need an API key for you to show WEEX data? No. The exchange serves all market data publicly, and our scanner works without keys and without access to anyone’s account.

Both at once

Nothing stops you from opening an account on both: it is free, and a pair of venues almost always beats any single one on price. Spot and earn stay on the ecosystem, contracts on the terminal. Moving between them costs pennies on the right network.

Live numbers

The table above is built from our own market snapshots: USDT pairs, perpetual contracts, P2P ads and currencies, withdrawal networks and the cheapest one. OKX and WEEX can be compared on facts rather than promises.

What the numbers say

Moving USDT costs less on OKX: 0.0029 over ARBITRUM, where WEEX wants 0.0150 OPTIMISM. On perpetual contracts WEEX is ahead — 1,045 to 517. Spot is wider on WEEX: 1,601 USDT pairs against 467, a gap of 3.4×. In our scanner WEEX shows P2P in 89 currencies, OKX in 16. Routes out differ: 16 USDT networks on OKX, 11 on WEEX. A chain the other lacks is sometimes the cheapest way home.

Frequently asked

WEEX or OKX — which should you pick?
It is the same choice whichever way round you write it. The comparison above is built on what can be measured: fees, pair counts, withdrawal chains and funding routes. Look less at which venue is "better" in general and more at which of those matters to you.
