KuCoin vs KCEX

KuCoin and KCEX are built alike: spot, futures, earn, bots. The difference is in the emphasis and shows only up close.

Compared by the numbers

These figures come from the venues themselves. Volume is missing on purpose: every exchange counts it its own way, and on a few the top of the book is tokenised equities. The bottom row counts the P2P currencies our scanner reaches, not everything the venue lists.

In short: the difference

What KuCoin is: an ecosystem with its own set of services. On the market since 2017, jurisdiction: Seychelles, its own KCS token.

What KCEX is: an exchange with services around the trading. On the market since 2021, jurisdiction: Seychelles.

What KuCoin gives you

The rival’s service list is wide, yet KuCoin wins on other things: The venue known for its trading bots: grid, DCA and arbitrage bots are configured right in the interface, with no third-party service. Alongside that, spot across eight hundred-plus pairs, perpetual futures, P2P, savings and staking under Earn, Spotlight launches and copy trading. Nineteen networks for USDT withdrawals.

Strong sides: built-in trading bots, 800+ spot pairs, 19 withdrawal networks, a broad P2P.

What KCEX gives you

Compared with an ecosystem, KCEX leans on its own strengths: A derivatives venue: over eight hundred perpetual contracts, each publishing its funding rate and mark price, plus spot across some eight hundred and fifty pairs. What the venue sells itself on is zero spot fees and low futures rates. There is copy trading and new-coin launches; turnover is concentrated in the first hundred pairs, where the book is dense.

Strong sides: 800+ contracts with open rates and mark prices, zero spot fees per the venue’s own schedule, early listings.

What decides it

  • Age. KuCoin has run since 2017, KCEX since 2021 — a gap of 4 years. It guarantees nothing on its own, but the older venue has been through more market cycles.
  • Native token. KCS on KuCoin cuts fees and opens launches; KCEX has no such lever.
  • Strengths side by side. KuCoin: built-in trading bots, 800+ spot pairs, 19 withdrawal networks, a broad P2P; KCEX: 800+ contracts with open rates and mark prices, zero spot fees per the venue’s own schedule, early listings.
  • Which job. KuCoin is for anyone who wants to automate trading without writing code, while KCEX is primarily as a futures venue in funding.
  • Worth remembering. KuCoin: USDT withdrawals cost more than on neighbouring venues — compare networks before moving. KCEX: spot books are served one pair per request, so we keep the top hundred by turnover under watch.

What people ask most

KuCoin: How do the built-in bots work? The grid bot earns on swings inside a set range, DCA averages the entry, the arbitrage bot captures the gap between spot and futures. All configured with a mouse, no code and no third-party services.

KuCoin: How many withdrawal networks? Nineteen for USDT, a wide choice. The price depends on the network, so compare before you send: the live table is at the top of this page.

KuCoin: How many coins are here? More than eight hundred spot pairs — KuCoin sits comfortably in the top five by listing, and many coins got their first serious book here.

KCEX: Does KCEX take part in funding? Yes, in full. Every contract arrives in one list with its rate, accrual interval and next payout time, so the annualised rate is computed from the real interval rather than an assumption.

KCEX: How many contracts and pairs does KCEX have? By our measurements over eight hundred perpetual contracts and around eight hundred and fifty spot pairs. The figures are live — they come from the exchange’s own directory on every refresh.

KCEX: Why does spot arbitrage show only some KCEX pairs? The exchange serves its book one pair per request and limits requests to roughly five a second. Walking eight hundred pairs within a single refresh is not possible, so we watch the top hundred by turnover, where nearly all the volume sits. Using the last trade price instead of a book was not an option: you cannot buy at it.

Both at once

You do not have to pick one. Two accounts give you a fallback when the coin or network you need exists only on the other venue. It makes sense to split the jobs: spot and earn on one, bots and launches on the other. Balances are pre-funded, so no transfer is needed at the moment of a trade.

Live numbers

Everything in the table above is recomputed together with the rest of the site — pairs, contracts, P2P, networks and the withdrawal fee. KuCoin and KCEX can be compared on facts rather than promises.

What the numbers say

P2P advertisements reach us from KuCoin alone: 89 currencies. The spot lists are comparable: roughly 837 USDT pairs on each. Of the two, only KuCoin publishes a USDT withdrawal price: 0.50, chain TON. The futures list runs longer on KCEX: 820, against 707.
