In short: the difference
Kraken is an exchange for real-money settlement. On the market since 2011, jurisdiction: San Francisco, USA.
Ourbit is a venue that doubles as a toolkit. .
What Kraken gives you
Compared with an ecosystem, Kraken leans on its own strengths: The oldest venue we cover, running since 2011 under US regulation. Its distinction is real money: around seven hundred dollar pairs and five hundred and forty-six euro pairs, more than anyone here. There is spot, perpetual futures with hourly funding, staking and institutional services. Kraken is how we compute the live dollar rate in our stablecoin section.
Strong sides: 546 euro pairs and around seven hundred dollar ones, age and regulation, hourly funding.
What Ourbit gives you
The regulated venue wins on money, Ourbit on everything else: A venue that calls itself a SuperCEX and bets on breadth: fifteen hundred spot pairs against USDT and over seven hundred perpetual contracts, each publishing its funding rate and mark price. Listings are quick, with plenty of fresh and meme coins. Data is served openly and in full — spot with best quotes, and contracts — which makes its prices sound to compare with other venues.
Strong sides: 1500+ USDT pairs and 700+ contracts, best quotes and rates served as one list, fast listings of new coins.
What decides it
- Strengths side by side. Kraken: 546 euro pairs and around seven hundred dollar ones, age and regulation, hourly funding; Ourbit: 1500+ USDT pairs and 700+ contracts, best quotes and rates served as one list, fast listings of new coins.
- Which job. Kraken is for settling in real dollars and euro rather than stablecoins, while Ourbit is as an early-listing venue and a leg in cross-venue routes.
- Worth remembering. Kraken: entry-level fees run higher than neighbours — it pays off at larger volumes. Ourbit: the network and withdrawal-fee directory sits behind a key, so we do not show a transfer status for it.
Which one fits you

What people ask most
Kraken: Does Kraken have P2P? No. Fiat comes in and out by bank transfer; there is no merchant-ad marketplace.
Kraken: What does trading on Kraken actually cost? At the entry tier, 0.80% taker and 0.40% maker, from its own fee schedule. The rate falls with thirty-day volume: reaching 0.20% taker takes a quarter of a million dollars traded in a month.
Kraken: Why check the network before sending? Kraken does not support every network for every coin, and a deposit sent on an unsupported network is usually unrecoverable. The supported list is in its funding help pages.
Ourbit: How does Ourbit differ from MEXC? The interface and API shape are close, but they are different venues with different listings and different book depth. Our exchange comparison puts their live numbers side by side.
Ourbit: What is Ourbit’s funding interval? Most often eight hours, and the exchange states it per contract along with the next payout time, so we annualise from the real interval.
Ourbit: Why do Ourbit routes show a question mark instead of a transfer status? The venue does not openly publish which networks accept deposits and withdrawals, or what a transfer costs. We will not present a guess as a fact.
Both at once
Most people end up keeping both: one for daily trades, the other for what the first one lacks. Deposits and withdrawals go through the regulated venue, trading and yield through the ecosystem. A stablecoin travels between them on a cheap network.
Live numbers
The table above is built from our own market snapshots: USDT pairs, perpetual contracts, P2P ads and currencies, withdrawal networks and the cheapest one. Kraken and Ourbit can be compared on facts rather than promises.
What the numbers say
The transfer price stays behind the login on Kraken and on Ourbit alike. Rather than publish a number we cannot verify, the row keeps a dash. Spot is wider on Ourbit: 1,400 USDT pairs against 44, a gap of 31.8×. The futures list runs longer on Ourbit: 766, against 209.
