WhiteBIT vs Phemex

Money goes in through WhiteBIT, trading happens on Phemex. The pair works better than picking one.

Compared by the numbers

Collected straight from the exchanges. Volume is deliberately left out: venues count it differently, and on some the top of the list is tokenised equities. The last row is our advertisement scanner’s coverage, not the venue’s full currency list, which is wider.

In short: the difference

First in the pair, WhiteBIT, is an exchange with bank rails attached. On the market since 2018, jurisdiction: Lithuania, its own WBT token.

Second in the pair, Phemex, is a venue built for leveraged trading. On the market since 2019, jurisdiction: Samoa.

What WhiteBIT gives you

Next to a derivatives terminal, WhiteBIT answers with something else: A European venue with Ukrainian roots, registered in Lithuania. Its defining trait is money without USDT in the middle: ninety-two euro pairs and sixteen hryvnia ones, a combination nothing else here offers. There is spot, almost four hundred perpetuals, P2P, staking and savings, a launchpad and its own WBT token, which sits in the market top twenty by capitalisation.

Strong sides: 92 euro pairs and 16 hryvnia ones, European registration, a 0.1% fee, WBT in the top 20.

What Phemex gives you

The regulated venue wins on money, Phemex on everything else: A derivatives venue founded by people from bank trading desks. A hundred and fifty spot pairs and a hundred and twenty perpetuals, each with its own funding rate. There is savings, copy trading and trading bots. The book is even and the data is served openly, which makes its prices sound to compare with other venues.

Strong sides: an even book, open data, the funding interval stated per contract.

What decides it

  • Jurisdiction. WhiteBIT sits in Lithuania, Phemex in Samoa. It shapes both the checks you pass and what the venue has to disclose.
  • Native token. WBT on WhiteBIT cuts fees and opens launches; Phemex has no such lever.
  • Strengths side by side. WhiteBIT: 92 euro pairs and 16 hryvnia ones, European registration, a 0.1% fee, WBT in the top 20; Phemex: an even book, open data, the funding interval stated per contract.
  • Which job. WhiteBIT is for settling directly in euro and hryvnia without USDT in between, while Phemex is as an additional venue in cross-exchange routes and funding.
  • Worth remembering. WhiteBIT: USDT withdrawals cost more than on the largest venues — compare networks if you move often. Phemex: a narrow listing next to the Asian venues.

Which one fits you

WhiteBIT — for settling directly in euro and hryvnia without USDT in between.

Phemex — as an additional venue in cross-exchange routes and funding.

What people ask most

WhiteBIT: Why is WhiteBIT missing from your P2P sections? There is no programmatic access to its P2P ads: the section is not among the open ones in its documentation, and the page is behind bot protection. P2P does work on the exchange, but we cannot take the data from it.

WhiteBIT: How many futures are there? Three hundred and ninety-six USDT perpetuals, with funding published for all of them. The settlement interval differs by contract: eight hours on some, four on others.

WhiteBIT: What does it cost to withdraw USDT? One USDT on almost any network: TRON, BSC, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum and the rest. Only Ethereum (0.4) and Plasma (0.1) are cheaper. That is noticeably dearer than the large competitors, and it tells on frequent transfers.

Phemex: Does Phemex have its own token? No, it has no exchange token.

Phemex: Why do Phemex prices look strange in its API? They are served as scaled integers: 160700000 at a scale of eight is 1.607. The scale differs per market and lives in the product directory.

Phemex: What is the funding interval on Phemex? Eight hours on most contracts, and the exchange states it per contract, so there is no guessing. Our funding section annualises from the real interval.

Both at once

Most people end up keeping both: one for daily trades, the other for what the first one lacks. Euro or hryvnia comes in on the regulated venue, moves as a stablecoin to the terminal, and the position opens there. Withdrawals take the same road back.

Live numbers

Everything in the table above is recomputed together with the rest of the site — pairs, contracts, P2P, networks and the withdrawal fee. WhiteBIT and Phemex can be compared on facts rather than promises.

What the numbers say

On perpetual contracts WhiteBIT is ahead — 395 to 129. WhiteBIT gives 2.2× the choice on spot: 326 USDT pairs against 149. We can price the USDT withdrawal on WhiteBIT alone — 0.50 over SOL.

Frequently asked

Phemex or WhiteBIT — which should you pick?
It is the same choice whichever way round you write it. The comparison above is built on what can be measured: fees, pair counts, withdrawal chains and funding routes. Look less at which venue is "better" in general and more at which of those matters to you.
