In short: the difference
First in the pair, KCEX, is a venue that doubles as a toolkit. On the market since 2021, jurisdiction: Seychelles.
Second in the pair, BigONE, is an ecosystem with its own set of services. On the market since 2017, jurisdiction: Seychelles, its own ONE token.
What KCEX gives you
Compared with an ecosystem, KCEX leans on its own strengths: A derivatives venue: over eight hundred perpetual contracts, each publishing its funding rate and mark price, plus spot across some eight hundred and fifty pairs. What the venue sells itself on is zero spot fees and low futures rates. There is copy trading and new-coin launches; turnover is concentrated in the first hundred pairs, where the book is dense.
Strong sides: 800+ contracts with open rates and mark prices, zero spot fees per the venue’s own schedule, early listings.
What BigONE gives you
The rival’s service list is wide, yet BigONE wins on other things: A veteran of this comparison: the exchange opened in 2017, put together by a team that came out of Yunbi. The list holds some nine hundred spot pairs and a hundred perpetual contracts, each with an open funding rate, accrual interval and mark price. Margin, leveraged tokens and staking all work here, and the ONE token cuts the fee. The venue publishes everything, down to the size at the best quote.
Strong sides: ~900 pairs and 100 contracts, best quotes with sizes, an open network directory with withdrawal fees, the ONE token for discounts.
What decides it
- Age. BigONE has run since 2017, KCEX since 2021 — a gap of 4 years. It guarantees nothing on its own, but the older venue has been through more market cycles.
- Native token. ONE on BigONE cuts fees and opens launches; KCEX has no such lever.
- Strengths side by side. KCEX: 800+ contracts with open rates and mark prices, zero spot fees per the venue’s own schedule, early listings; BigONE: ~900 pairs and 100 contracts, best quotes with sizes, an open network directory with withdrawal fees, the ONE token for discounts.
- Which job. KCEX is primarily as a futures venue in funding, while BigONE is as an additional venue in spot routes and funding.
- Worth remembering. KCEX: spot books are served one pair per request, so we keep the top hundred by turnover under watch. BigONE: the top of the book is thin: on major coins the best price often holds only a hundred dollars or two.
Which one fits you
KCEX — primarily as a futures venue in funding.
BigONE — as an additional venue in spot routes and funding.
What people ask most
KCEX: What are KCEX fees? The venue advertises zero spot fees and reduced futures rates. In our tables the fee is yours to set in the «trade fee» field — put in zero and watch how the net spread changes.
KCEX: Why do KCEX routes show a question mark instead of a transfer status? The venue does not publish whether deposits and withdrawals are open per network, or what a transfer costs. We will not present a guess as a fact, so the badge reads «unknown» and those rows are hidden while the «working transfers only» filter is on.
KCEX: Why does spot arbitrage show only some KCEX pairs? The exchange serves its book one pair per request and limits requests to roughly five a second. Walking eight hundred pairs within a single refresh is not possible, so we watch the top hundred by turnover, where nearly all the volume sits. Using the last trade price instead of a book was not an option: you cannot buy at it.
BigONE: Is the transfer status visible for BigONE? Yes, in full. The venue publishes networks, deposit and withdrawal statuses and the fee per chain, so its routes carry the ordinary transfer badge and the fee is subtracted from the net spread straight away.
BigONE: How many pairs and contracts does BigONE have? By our measurements around nine hundred spot pairs and a hundred perpetual contracts. The figures are live and refresh with the data.
BigONE: Does BigONE take part in your arbitrage sections? Yes, all of them. The exchange serves best quotes together with their sizes, so we can compute both the spread and the ceiling it fills at — which matters especially on a venue like this.
Both at once
Most people end up keeping both: one for daily trades, the other for what the first one lacks. It makes sense to split the jobs: spot and earn on one, bots and launches on the other. Balances are pre-funded, so no transfer is needed at the moment of a trade.
Live numbers
